スポーツのグローバル化と文化変容に関する研究

研究概要

(1) 研究の背景

2012年ロンドンでオリンピックが開催され、その圧倒的な迫力に、グローバルイベントとしての意味が読みとれた。経済でもなく、政治でもなく、これだけ人々を魅了するスポーツは、また一方で政治に活用され、メディアの宣伝に徹底的に利用される。

しかし、世界の人々を感動させるスポーツとは反対に、地域的意味が付与された伝統スポーツも存在する。これらは文化の異なる地域ではまったく意味をなさない。しかし人々の手によるこれらの伝統スポーツは、人々を結束させ、また地域のリーダーを選抜する手法としての機能を持つ。そして人と人を繋ぐ架け橋ともなっているのである。このような伝統的スポーツを考える事は、オリンピック・スポーツを逆照射することにもなる。したがって、当該テーマの最良の題材が用意されたことになる。

当該テーマを推進するにあたり、神戸市外国語大学とスペイン・バスク大学との学術交流協定を前提とした「第2回国際セミナー」を上記研究班で構成し、準備を進めた。第1回はスペイン・ビトリア市で2007年9月に開催された。今回の国際セミナー・テーマは、「グローバリゼーションと伝統スポーツ」であり、研究班テーマを各研究者のプロパーに合致させ、さらに具体化したものである。日本からは、上記9名の他に2名を追加し合計11名、バスク大学側は7名が参加した、日本の各研究者は、毎月開催されるISC・21(21世紀スポーツ文化研究会、東京、名古屋、大阪、神戸)で研究発表を試みた。日西研究者は2010年3月までに各研究論文を提出し、それをスペイン語と日本語に翻訳された。添付の『発表抄録集』がそれである。

国際セミナーでは各研究者はすでに発表論文を読み込んで出席することを前提としており、一人1時間の発表時間はもっぱら質疑応答に費やされた。

(2) 研究実績・成果

日本の各研究は次の通りである;

松浪　稔:日本における近代的身体概念の形成 -軍隊・教育・メディア-

瀧元誠樹:古武術の伝承について

タイトルを見てわかるように、伝統スポーツを広く捉え、そこに存するグローバル化への眼差しは多岐にわたる。そして、その中には、グローバル化されることで消失する要素、あるいは画一的な要素は西洋スタンダードの推進という意味も付与していることも判明している。今後は、地域的意味の再認識とその構造を明確化し、伝統の持つ新たな視点を発信していく予定である。

(3) 今後の展望

スペイン・バスク大学（西洋）の研究を視野に入れて、客観的に当該研究を客観化することができた。とくに、あるテーマへのアプローチは、日本側はグローバリゼーションの意味について深く掘り下げているのに対し、バスク大学側にとってグローバリゼーションは前提としてあり、それを受容した上でその構造を解明することに主眼が置かれていた。

日本側は、これらの論文に手を加えた後、「神戸市外国語大学 研究年報」として2013年度に出版する予定である。

また、これらの中から数編選択し、『スポートロジイ』第2号（みやび出版）へ掲載し、市販する予定である。
