バイオサイエンス教育の事例と検討
研究概要
本研究では、バイオサイエンス分野の教育体制と青年層（特に大学生・高専生）の当該分野に対する意識、および基礎知識についてアンケートを中心に調査を実施し、教育機関が今後どのように学生だけでなく地域社会をも含めた教育に参画できるかを考察した。専門課程の学生、教養科目として履修している学生、公開講座を受講した社会人という異なる背景を持ち、各々の講義や実験を履修した受講生の反応をもとに検討を行った。
「第１章 神戸高専応用化学科における生物工学教育」では、生物工学（座学）の講義と学生実験の実施時期がそれぞれの科目の理解度にどのように影響を与えているかを、アンケート調査の集計結果により考察した。また、当該科目についての関心の度合いと、基礎知識を問う小テストの点数を各個人間で比較した結果、関心が高いが試験が出来ない学生に共通の背景が見出された。「第２章 教養科目としてのバイオサイエンス教育」のなかでは、主として神戸研究学園都市大学交流センター推進協議会（UNITY）の単位互換講座で開講１年目の「先端バイオ・メディカルサイエンス論」の受講者それぞれが持つ、関心あるバイオサイエンスのテーマを調査し、バイオサイエンスの教養科目運営のあり方について吟味した。「第３章 地域社会におけるバイオサイエンス教育」では、１５年度に実施したUNITY公開講座の受講者から寄せられた感想や反応をもとに、社会教育におけるバイオサイエンス教育のあり方を考察した。
なお、本研究の成果は再来年度の高専シンポジュウムで発表予定である。
