科目内容

＜リレー講義ー英米文学文化と「動物」＞（Relay Lectures on “Animals”）

英米学科文学文化系教員がリレー形式で行う入門講義です。各講師が、それぞれの専門領域を踏まえて、英米文学・文化研究の面白さと研究の基本的な形を、分かりやすく解説していきます。

本年度のテーマは＜動物＞です。私たちの文化や社会と分ち難い関係にある動物が、小説、詩、劇、映画のなかでどのように描かれてきたのか、あるいは歴史のなかでどのように理解され、捉えられてきたのか、具体的な作品や事象をもとに探っていきます。

13	西川教授：ツグミの詩　—　ワーズワス、ハーディ、フロスト、ラーキン
14	難波江教授：What’s hiding in the dark ？：ヘンリー・ジェイムズの“ The Beast in the Jungle”（ 1903）

評価方法

前半・後半各一回ずつレポートを提出。その総合点で評価する。

教科書

各講師がプリントを配布する。

参考図書

特になし。（講師によっては指定する場合もある。）

履修にあたって

入門講義なので特に1,2 年生に履修してもらいたい。さまざまな講義を聴き比べることがリレー講義の狙いなので、毎回出席を心がけること。

なお、都合で講義の順番が変更される場合もある。
