科目内容

社会の高齢化が進む中、誰もが参加できる社会の構築が求められている。2013年には「障害者差別解消法」が制定され、国際連合の「障害者権利条約」が批准された。年齢や性別、能力の多寡、人種や文化の違いに関わらず、誰もが利用できるようにデザインするというユニバーサルデザイン（UD）の考え方は、多くの企業が取り組んでおり、まちづくりや社会づくりなどのコトのデザインにおいてもその考え方が当たり前のことになっている。

加齢や病気あるいは事故などによって障害を受けた人の生活上の問題の多くは、製品・空間・情報のデザインによって取り除くことができる。このような取り組みは、従来は特別な人に対する特別なデザインとして取り組まれてきた。特別なこととしてではなく、普通のこととして取り組むことの重要性と、その方法論を多様な事例やビデオを通して学ぶ。
