科目内容

社会の高齢化が進む中、誰もが参加できる社会の構築が求められるようになってきた。年齢や性別、能力の多寡に関わらず、誰もが利用できる建築や製品をデザインするという、ユニバーサルデザイン（UD）の考え方は、多くの企業に取り入れられるようになってきており、まちづくりや社会づくりといったコトのデザインにおいてもその考え方が取り入れられてきている。

高齢者や障害のある人の社会参加を妨げている問題の多くは、製品や空間あるいは情報のデザインによって取り除くことができる。このような取り組みは、従来は特別な人に対する特別なデザインとして取り組まれてきた。特殊解としてではなく、一般解として取り組むことの重要性と、その方法論を多様な事例やビデオを通して学ぶ。
